A WORD FOR THOUGHT
We keep on crying for a change in this country but the real question is how many of us are positioned correctly for that change? The average Nigerian just wants to be comfortable without thinking of what becomes of the next person. Lets all take a cue from Jan 1 2012, I was so happy thinking that at last Nigerians can stand up to the government and gain thier deliverance but instead, we only showed our true self. We are like sheeps and the government is more or less the sheperd. They dictate the pace of everything and we only grumble but in the end, we succum to thier dictates. We fail to realise that we installed the government so if this is correct, then why then should they dictate the pace? Nigerians are weak and cowardly. Thats just the truth. Now Asuu is on strike and millions of children are either in thier parents houses or on the streets trying to get themselves busy. Everyone is expecting the government to yield to Asuu's terms and conditions forgetting that those in high places of authority actually have little or nothing to loose because thier children are either studying abroad or in private universities where there is no strike. Every attention is tilted to "Early child marriage" at the expense of the on going strike. They are actually addressing what would favour them and forgetting or paying little or no attention to the cry of the masses and this is because the masses have lost thier sense of priority and dignity. Are we going to sit and watch the future of the generation ahead get destroyed? Nigerians these people have nothing to loose because they are already a failed generation. Thier generation has been tested and nothing good seems to be forthcoming out of them. Nigerian youths are you going to keep partying away your future? The comfort you think you have attained now is only a false comfort because this is what your parents have toiled for. When would the Nigerian youths wake up and stand up to thier future? When would we say we are tired and actually mean it by taking steps to show it? When would we stop destroying our future by selling our votes. When would the Nigerian youth stop getting excited about what he would eat now and rather focus on the future? God would not come down to do a magic. He has put us in this country and for a reason. We are here for a purpose. Why not focus on that rather than focusing on things that wouldn't last. Its not enough to take to the streets to protest, because these leaders of ours just know that it would not last. The so called Labour body is corrupt. Every aspect of governance is corrupt. Everyone is corrupt or has the tendency. Nigerian youths ARISE and lets make the difference and change we desire. GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
