PRAYERS INITIATED BY FEAR

It is not a new thing to an average human that prayer is a means of fighting spiritual warfare, all religion testify to this. I can testify to it that this world is spiritual and there are lot of battles going on, the one we can see or the invincible ones. There are battles from friends and foes, in the morning, afternoon, evening and night, in the dream, real life experiences. At work, at home, amongst family members, from within the environment and attacks of all sought. Yes, this world is really wicked! I am sure you must have heard if not seen the operations of the wicked ones. However we were enjoyed to intensify our prayers so we can become victorious. It is the survival of the fittest. Christians are not excluded in this, running along churches, mountains taking this issue of spiritual warfare seriously. 

Permit me to inform you dear reader that prayer is different from what we grew up to meet, or should I say what we were taught. We grew up to meet our fathers praying and as time goes on, we were also indoctrinated into it. We tend to know what prayer is based on what we were taught either verbally or by actions. 

Prayer as it were is a means of communication, it's not just that but a two way communication, where in the sender sends the message and also get a response from the person the message was sent to.

Many times what we call prayer is carrying all your problems to God without waiting for response. Prayer is supposed to be born out of a relationship. Its more of gisting. Can you play this out in your imagination; your child coming to meet you with a whole lot of request bombarding you with his needs say School fees, feeding allowance, needed materials in school, house rent, clothing allowance.... and many more then such child just walked out without waiting to receive a feedback from you. 

That's what many christians do, what even the traditional worshipers won't do. If you speak with the oracle, you wait and hear the solution to your request. But its not so among the christian. As much as you have a whole lot of things to tell God, God also have many things he wants to tell you too. 

I am not dwelling much on that in the cause of this write up, but it is expedient i let us know what prayer truly is. Just like I have said earlier, prayer is supposed to be a moment of gisting with your father in heaven. Flipping through the scriptures and seeing moments of prayer, you will be delighted to pray. 

The moments of their prayer is really interesting, you will read Abraham telling God "what if you see 10 people?...." till he came down to 5 people, that was when the angels were going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. God coming down in the cool of the day to gist with Adam before the fall, Moses talking with God almighty mouth to mouth, Enoch's encounter with God was so sweet that God literally took him away, Elijah closing the door of rain for years until God coming to the scene. See the simplicity of prayer. 

Alas, in my generation and world, prayers are not drawn out of the need to have a chat with God, but to table all our fears and need before him then leaving him to do the magic we call answering. We don't have the luxury of time to wait and listen to what he wants to tell us as regarding our request. Yes, he said in his word that "Cast all your burden on him for he cares for you" his word rightly said "call unto me and I will answer you..." a whole lot of bible references telling us to call on God, but little do we understand that many of our request are initiated by fear and the answer is not not far fetched. 

Matthew 11:29 makes us understand a certain principle that will help our prayer life greatly. 

Matthew 11:29 TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU, AND LEARN OF ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: AND YE SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS.

We want rest from all the spiritual battle and war we have and see around us, but truth be told, WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO LEARN OF HIM. 

John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; AND YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE.

It is when you learn of him that you will know the truth, and it is in knowing the truth that your freedom lies. To be free from all form of attacks from the kingdom of darkness, one greatest deliverance you can have is to know the truth. The devil understand this and he is doing everything possible for even the so called child of God not to have time to learn the truth. 

For how long will you be under the bondage of fear? many times it's the devil that pushes us to pray; when you have a very terrible scarry night mare that is when you will remember to pray till day break, because you can't even sleep again. I see many christians running from mountains to valley all because of the forces of darkness pursuing them about. Those innocent flies have been tagged demon because you won't learn what you ought to learn, those wonderful cooks that brings food in dream you have tagged them to be evil people when you don't actually know who you are in Christ. 

Just like i said earlier, there are powers of darkness, real one and IT is very powerful, i have seen it's manifestation severally but it's power is limited to those who lacks the understanding of their new creation realities, If you haven't been translated, it's power will still have effect on you even if you live in church and on mountains and with all those water and bangles you were given. You can be a worker and still die under the influence of the power of darkness.

What initiates you to pray? Is it that bad dream you have? that scarry night mare, scary experience of the people around, the news from television and social media? your work that is not going on well? the sickness you are having? poverty? just mention it. take this, IF ANYTHING INITIATES YOU TO PRAY RATHER THAN HAVING A NICE TIME TO GIST WITH YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN, THEN THAT IS NOT PRAYER. Prayers initiated by fears may be answered by God but He knows you are only but a child that lacks understanding, you have not been taught his word which is truth, you can't be free.  

The only way out of this is to learn Christ, learn the truth, and not church nor doctrines. Life is better with a better understanding of Jesus.
